The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated was founded on Friday, November 17, 1911 at Howard University in Washington, D.C. by three Howard University undergraduate students Edgar Amos Love, Frank Charles Coleman & Oscar James Cooper along with one faculty advisor, Dr. Ernest E. Just.

The Lambda Iota Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi was established on December 7, 1991. The Charter members had a vision of a chapter in the Bennettsville area where they could live the cardinal principles of: Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance & Uplift which the founding fathers of Omega Psi Phi established.
